The Aylesbury Regeneration programme is one of NHG’s most strategic projects. We’re offering a great opportunity to join us at an exciting time. You’ll have the expertise, commitment to regeneration and energy to lead and support a skilled and motivated project management team as they deliver the first phases of construction for NHG and the Southwark Council
The project will transform the current estate reintegrating it back into its surrounding neighbourhood and delivering 3500 new homes over 20 years. It will be a place of choice characterised by substantial public realm, 12 new open spaces, a public library, a health centre, community facilities and an early years nursery. It is a place of opportunity near to the Mayor of London’s Opportunity Areas at Elephant and Castle and the Old Kent Road with the planned Bakerloo Line extension. In line with our vision of building communities and creating homes for people on lower incomes, 50% of the development will be affordable and of this, 75% will be at social rent.
This coming 12 months will be a significant year for the majority of residents who have long awaited regeneration. Working in partnership with Southwark Council we are already on site undertaking demolition. After a period of uncertainty, NHG expects to start constructing nearly 400 homes, a hostel for the Ministry of Justice and the community facilities at the heart of the revitalised neighbourhood in early 2019.
You’ll ensure that the early phases set a benchmark for value for money, quality and partnership. This will set us up for success many phases to come. Amidst all the hard work, it is essential that we continue to command the confidence of NHG, the Council and residents. You’ll ensure that collectively we provide insightful progress reporting and risk management. You’ll maximise the opportunities for community building and social value. Whether you’re collaborating with and motivating colleagues, negotiating with consultants and contractors or building relationships with partners, you’ll have the gravitas and tenacity to make things happen.
This role will be a challenge. It’ll also be rewarding. You’ll have a varied brief - from managing teams, providing delivery advice for future phases, identifying strategic risks and recommending ways to resolve them through how we structure this multiphase project. We’ll give you the autonomy to get things done; in return you’ll support your team to deliver these complex development projects within budget and on time, and to our high quality standards.
